5 Questions with Peter Wagner ("Bobby Fish")

1) Can you talk briefly about your background, and how you first got interested in filmmaking?

I filmed and edited skate videos while growing up - eventually the filming/editing became more fun than the skateboarding.

2) What was the initial idea for this project and how did it evolve from there?

I wanted to make a fun-to-watch story about the silliest object I could think of, which was a Loud Mouth Billy Bass.

3) What was the biggest challenge in making this film? And the easiest part?

Difficult - Animating within my limitations. Easy - Having extremely talented friends who were willing to lend me their music to play with.

4) What’s a film you’ve seen recently, new or old, that you really loved and why?

Living in Oblivion, by Tom DiCillo. It’s fun, funny, and peak Buscemi. Also, Click by Adam Sandler.

5) What’s next for you?

Right now I’m finishing a feature doc, starting my next animation, and brainstorming a story about a pillow that talks whenever someone’s head lays on it.
