1) Can you talk briefly about your background, and how you first got interested in filmmaking?

When I was young I always loved to draw, that progressed into taking photos and taking photos developed into making films. I got a job as a runner at a post production house in London and kept trying to make videos and films alongside that job.

2) What was the initial idea for this project and how did it evolve from there?

The initial idea was let’s see what we can do with this camera and a handful of video 8 tapes. Myself Freddie and Markus knew that we’d be spending a lot of time together, they wanted to record some music and I wanted to experiment with camera techniques. This led to shooting a couple of quite surreal scenes and that led to me drawing storyboards and tying the scenes together into a short film.

3) What was the biggest challenge in making this film? And the easiest part?

The crew were a nightmare. There was no crew.

4) What’s a film you’ve seen recently, new or old, that you really loved and why?

Oldboy by Park Chan-Wook. The humour is incredible.

5) What’s next for you?

To keep on keeping on!
